Magic Moment: One of the things I’m most proud of is the creation of Dream Global in 2011. We recognized the opportunity to take the REIT structure and management style we developed here and bring it to real estate ownership abroad.

Key Influence: Michael Cooper – Michael is an amazing listener. I’ve learned from him the importance of really listening to what people are saying and thinking about how they feel.
Big Bird – I learned a significant amount of what I know from Sesame Street.

Next Big Challenge As An Industry: We need to focus on building better communities, the challenge being to think about everything that goes into that: we need to consider how people live, work, and play, and anticipate how they’ll be doing that 20, 50 years down the road. We need to listen to people and learn from each other so we can build in a way that is sustainable for communities and the environment.

On Championing Others… I try to give back in as many ways as I can. I am a member of Dream’s Leaders and Mentors Committee, part of the Patron’s Council for Community Living Toronto, and I sit on the Board of Directors of Women’s College Hospital Foundation. I am also always happy to mentor younger colleagues.
